James M. Bucki, Sr. Biography

James M. Bucki, Sr. is a seasoned coin collector, part-time coin dealer, and professional numismatic writer. He has over 40 years of experience in numismatics, specializing in modern U.S. coins, paper money, and world-type coins.

Most recently, he has been a content creator for CDN (The Greysheet). He has served as the “Collector Tech” columnist for the ANA’s monthly magazine “The Numismatist,” Coin Expert at The Spruce Crafts, and contributing writer for various national coin collecting magazines. Finally, he serves the Buffalo Numismatic Association as Webmaster, newsletter editor, and Coordinator of Scouting and Youth Activities.

In addition to his professional and hobbyist pursuits, James is the Director of Information Technology and a Professor at Genesee Community College. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree from the University of Buffalo. He has attended multiple American Numismatic Association Summer Seminars, focusing on coin grading, counterfeit detection, advanced numismatic negotiations, minting errors, and collecting techniques.

His passion for coin collecting and education shines through as he actively mentors youths and looks forward to teaching anyone interested in the hobby.
